List — Shows multiple products at once in a horizontal, scrollable row.
Single — Displays one product at a time, rotating through the list.
The Complementary Products section lets you recommend related or add-on items directly on the product page, helping increase average order value by suggesting products that pair well together.
This section is usually added inside the Product page → Information section.
Configure complementary products in the app:
From your Shopify admin, open the Search & Discovery app (Link install app).
Go to the Recommendations tab.
Select the main product, add the complementary products you’d like to show, then Save.
Note: Only products that are active or have a price greater than 0 will be displayed as complementary products.
Common reasons include:
The Search & Discovery app is not installed
No complementary products are assigned to the product
The block hasn’t been added to the Information section on the product page
The products are out of stock or set to Draft
The price of complementary products is not greater than 0
The carousel lets you control how products are displayed in this section. You can choose between two display styles:
