We continuously improve the Vetro theme with new features, enhancements, and stability updates. Keeping your theme up to date ensures that you always have access to the latest functionalities and maintain optimal performance.
In your Theme library, Shopify will display a notification whenever a new update is ready.
Simply click the notification to view the update details and apply the new version.
To see a full breakdown of what has changed, select View release notes.
When you choose Add to theme library, Shopify adds the updated version of the theme as an unpublished theme, separate from the current theme. It doesn't impact your current theme or any other themes in the library. You can learn more here.
All customizations made through the Theme Editor will be automatically carried over and applied to the updated theme.
The following will not carry over to the new version:
Custom CSS/Liquid edits you manually added to your existing theme
App code or snippets injected into the old theme
Any manual modifications to theme files
If your current theme includes custom code edits that aren’t carried over to the updated version, you’ll need to manually transfer those modified files into the new theme.
It is beyond the theme support’s scope to migrate these customizations from one version of the theme to another.
It depends on the app:
Some apps operate entirely in the backend -> no re-installation required.
Some apps inject code into your theme -> they may need to be reinstalled or reconnected.
With Online Store 2.0 themes, many apps now use App Blocks or App Sections, which simplifies installation and reduces the need for theme code edits.
We recommend contacting the app developers to confirm the correct re-installation steps and ensure no data is lost.
Our theme support team cannot provide support for third-party apps.
